10/30/2025

Hello!
Welcome to October 30th 2025! In this Newsletter:
  • What’s due at the end of October?
  • My Three Favorite Resources for October!
  • What due dates are coming up in November?
  • Events and Updates!

What’s Due End of October?Here are some end of October due dates that may apply to your business;
  • If your GST/HST is quarterly, and falls on the standard quarters, then the third quarter (July to Sept), is due to be filed and paid on or before October 31st. If you are an annual filer, then your GST/HST Instalment is due on October 31st.
  • If you have employees, then you likely are registered for provincial Workplace Insurance (WSIB/WCB). The filing and remitting of WSIB/WCB is different from province to province. Some provinces are due monthly on the 15th. In Ontario WSIB is on a quarterly schedule, and the premium for the earnings paid to employees July to September are due to be filed and remitted on or before October 31st.
  • Is your business subject to any other quarterly remittances that are industry specific, such as Municipal Accommodations Tax? These may be due for the July to Sept Quarter.
  • If you are incorporated, and you owed greater than $3k in corporate Income Tax for your previous fiscal year, then you are required to pay installments for next year on the last day of every month. October 31st is the due date for the October Corporate Tax Instalment.
  • Though there are no other standard items due at the end of this month, be aware that if your Sales Tax filing is monthly, September's GST/HST filing and remittance is due on October 31st. Also, if your Corporate Fiscal Year End is April, your Corporate Tax Return is due 6 months after your Fiscal Year end (October 31st). If your Corporate Year End is August, the Income Tax Payable is payable 2 or 3 months after the Fiscal Year End; either due end of October or end of November, depending on your corporation. Check in with your accountant to find out more about your corporate tax due dates specific to your corporation.

What due dates are coming up in November?Now’s the time to prep your November Calendar! #BeThatBusiness that is organized! Here are some November due dates that might affect your business:
  • Remembrance Day in Canada is observed November 11th. It is recognized as a statutory holiday in most provinces and territories except for Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Quebec. In Manitoba it is not considered a general holiday, but there are restrictions and special requirements. Every jurisdiction has specific regulations. Find specifics about your province here.
  • If you have employees, November 15th is the due date for your payroll source deductions relating to October's payroll if you are a regular remitter. (Nov 15th falls on a Saturday this year, so the due date is moved to Monday Nov 17th)
  • If you have employees, then you likely are registered for provincial Workplace Insurance (WSIB/WCB). WCB in some provinces is due monthly, and on the 15th. (In Ontario WSIB is due quarterly, and the premiums on earnings from Oct to Dec are due January 31st)
  • If you business is incorporated, and owed greater than $3k in corporate Income Tax for the previous fiscal year, then it is required to pay installments for next year on the last day of every month. November 30th is the due date for the November Corporate Tax Installment. (Nov 30th falls on a Sunday this year, so the due date is moved to Monday Dec 1st)
  • Though there are no other standard items due at the end of this month, be aware that if your Sales Tax filing is monthly, October's GST/HST filing and remittance is due on November 30th. Also, if your Corporate Fiscal Year End is May, your Corporate Tax Return is due 6 months after your Fiscal Year end (November 30th). If your Corporate Year End is September, the Income Tax Payable is payable 2 or 3 months after the Fiscal Year End; either due end of November or end of December, depending on your corporation. Check in with your accountant to find out more about your corporate tax due dates specific to your corporation. Check out CRA's Quick Reference Guide for more information.
